About the SHA Print
The Saskatchewan Handgun Association was formed in 1945, and is dedicated to promoting the ISSF, Olympic and NRA target shooting disciplines of handgun competition.  The SHA has a large volunteer base who are actively involved in organizing and supporting local, provincial, and national competitions.

 

Our organization provides a number of services to our members and member clubs.
These services include:
 
  • Range Officer certification courses
  • Nationally accredited coaching certification courses
  • Insurance for our members and member clubs
  • Help in starting and developing junior programs in outlying areas
  • High performance training camps for competitive shooters
  • Help in organizing and running learn-to-shoot programs
  • Assistance in running local and high level matches
  • Athlete assistance for high-level athletes
  • Scholarships for members attending post secondary education
  • MAP Grant funding for member clubs

The first-ever Youth Olympic Games will be held in 2010 in Singapore.  Athletes between the ages of 14 to 18 are eligible to compete in this exciting initiative of the IOC.  Olympic 10M Air Pistol and Air Rifle are sports at these Olympics.
